Five reasons why the comfort zone is your enemy

You probably think that everyone should love and appreciate the comfort zone. Well, you will be surprised to see that your life can fully change even if you decide to make small baby steps out from that thing we call “the comfort zone”. So what is the “comfort zone”? Well, each one of us can have their own idea but basically the comfort zone is the decision to stay put, away from taking risks, discovering and exploring new stuff or simply by doing the same damn things all over again. The majority of us prefer staying in this comfort zone since it basically provides the minimum we need and with it we basically stop living, each day, each hour and each minute. The comfort zone is your enemy because:

You just stop living

Yes. You heard me right. The comfort zone is not a place where you feel the chills when you meet someone new, talk in front of a huge crowd or the excitement of seeing something impressive just by making the last moment decision to quit your job and see the world. These are the kicks that basically make our lives more spicier, and this is one of the big reasons why you need to at least step out of the comfort zone at least once in a while.

Your life becomes monotonous

Are you actually happy with doing the same ting all over again? For example, you wake up, take a shower, eat breakfast then go to work etc. Your life is really boring if you end up doing the same things every day. Spice your life a bit, travel, go to new restaurants, learn to ride a horse etc.

You avoid doing the things that you like

Sometimes we tend to ignore what we actually like to do because it doesn’t pay a lot, it’s just not “worth it” or it takes time. Well, you only live once, if you want to travel, then travel. If you want to be a teacher, then teach. If you want to do new things, then do them! Don’t do things that you don’t like because it’s just sad, like really sad.

You interact with the same people

If you don’t step up your social game (for obvious reasons), it’s difficult to meet new people and make new friends. But all you have to do is to just step a bit from the comfort zone. Especially when you travel, you get to meet new people and you will be surprised to see that you can actually make new friends while travelling. Getting out of the comfort zone has so many benefits, it’s really difficult to just pick five of them.

You live only once

I’m not so much into Buddhism to believe that I will be a dog in the next life, but somehow I’m pretty sure that you live only once. Wouldn’t be a pity to waste all this extremely precious time in your comfort zone? Do something that will get your adrenaline high, live a little, because you only live once. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Flo

As a child growing up in a quaint Western Romanian town, I never imagined that I would one day have the opportunity to travel the world. But now, I'm living proof that with dedication, passion, and a willingness to try new things, anything is possible. The key is to always stay true to yourself and embrace all that life has to offer. By doing so, you too can turn your dreams into reality.
